I don't think so pal, just very hard plastic! I'm not sure we even used Delrin that long ago....Both these knives are from the late 40's, early 50's.!!
Also, look at the bolster's where they meet the handle...the shrinkage?? Delrin doesn't shrink like that....

I just noticed on yours....no center rivet!! It's under the shell so it's definately a shell knife! Pay attention Bob!!

Interesting Scott, but not impossible....the handles were clearly pinned on to the liners prior....no visible center pin proves that for sure. Look close and see if that liner is under those bolster's?? Sometimes they would make a full liner like this and apply the bolster's on top of the flat liner under the bolster..if you can send a pic of the back and front, we'll know for sure!

I wouldn't consider this a shell knife but the handles were pined on to the liner's and
the bolster's were applied after! Nice find...

Hello Kasey!! I'm a bit exhausted from attending the NCCA Mystic knife show but I can definately help you with this....
It's one of ours for sure! An old Colinial Knife company's attempt many years ago for an easy open, one blade pocket knife.. It looks like a Trapper but it's not.

It's Cat # was 721, single blade with plastic old time brown stained jigged bone.
The long pull and solid NS bolster's and main assembly pin are a clear sign to me as an old one...We started this style in the mid to late 60's and it eventually evolved into a shell knife with just two top hollow steel bolster's. We probably made this style for 15-20 years and sold tons of them. Although, yours is older and beat-up a bit but it may fetch $ 10 to $ 25.00 !!

Saw many old friends, made lots of new friends, and it seemed to us that many of the show people were very glad that myself and Colonial Knife were there!!

We sold books, parts, knives and the big hit of the show was conceived and produced by me and my pal, Mr. Joe K of "Royal Pines Cutlery"!!

Here's the most ironic thing...my brother Dave who left the Colonial disaster many years ago and obtained his Masters Degree went on to bigger and better things, came down to the show on Sunday....
He bought a few raffle tickets for me and himself and don't you know, my brother hit!! They presented him with the prize, took his picture and as humbled as he was, he came right back to us and our table and handed it to me!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though it's a shell knife it's in beautiful shape, probably
made in the late 50's and the long pull on the master blade
is a dead give away!! It's a keeper for sure..
