This is one of the few puukkos I have owned. The blade is a Helle, I don't know who made the knife and sheath. Knife and sheath are carved from walrus ivory which is a material I really like. The writing on the sheath translates to "return" or "come back to Tromso", Tromso being a city in Norway. One heck of a souvenir! Mounts on sheath are hallmarked and silver, not nickel.
That would qualify as jewelry. Walrus ivory is especially beautiful to me and that is a fine example. Gorgeous

The only custom-made fixed blade I own. Made for me by my friend a Guild member, Frank McGowan back in the late eighties.(#39) The handle is antique Sambar stag from an old Sheffield carving set. The blade, guard and butt-plate are Damascus. Overall 10 inches with a 5-1/4' blade. He was a good friend and I cherish the piece. J.O'.

That is a very well-made piece with elegant lines throughout. So many custom knives cannot say that. It is a real keeper.

Another nice one!

I love wood and a smaller drop point knife is one of the most useful types of fixed blade.

Yeah, i like my smaller fixed blades. I have one i purchased last year, amoore maker, has a horizontal belt sheath. I find is a superb small carry blade. Stay on your belt out of the way.

Thanks Steve, I kinda see them as little arrow points. Don't know what Frank was going for there but I'm really glad to have a personal piece that we designed a bit together. I brought the handle and the Woodcraft shape, Frank did the details. J.O'.
