Hi Geno, this is a Buck 301 I found, made by Schrade. It has three rivets in the handle.
Over the years I have mainly collect Schrade knives, however I do have some early Bucks from the 70's.
The Buck 301 shown with its’ box, has only one rivet in the handle :P .Ken

I have also posted an UH-886 made by Camillus, almost the same as the Schrade UH-885.

Kolgold, Great looking knives! I like that Camillus. The second Buck 301 you show looks like it was a California made Buck in the later years of them being there. They were desperate to cut costs and I think this is a reason for less pins in the handles(???) and the bolsters of that time all look like the one you have pictured with the pins bulging slightly because of thinner bolsters.
Great looking bunch of knives!

Geno,
It is all too hard for me to explain about the pins. All I know is Schrade knives used a “Dave Swinden system” that hid the pins, that hold the blades in the frame. Buck knives had 3 pins, two in the bolsters and one in the handle. ::shrug::

I have one of the early Buck 303 cadet knives, just like your one.
They where made back in the 1970's by Buck and they are quite collectible.
The later Buck knives have a date stamp on the blade, that shows when the knife was made.
This is a later Buck 309, made in 1996 [it came in the green box, your knife came in the other box]..Ken
