Man, I used to love CB'n. Handle was Peepin' Tom. Gave it up in '75 or '76 when EVERYBODY got one for X-mas. It was all over then.

I picked mine when I had my Jeep. I used to ride the mountains quite a bit so it became trail rider and my birth year.

Orignally from New York. Grew up in the city. I bounced around a bit, and then eventually settled in Virginia. One day (night) sittin around with some friends, and somehow it surfaced that while I was generally considered an OK guy, the general consensus was that I was a bit too "intense". This was about the third time I had heard this, and so figured must be somethin to it after all

... always had a love of knives + intense nature = "On Edge"

... Of course the years have mellowed me enormously ...

I've enjoyed reading this thread better than any I can think of recently. Mine was a spur of the moment thing. When me and the devil split up, he/she took the computer we had so when I got a new one I couldn't use the name I had on the old computer because it was still all under his/her name. So I had to use something with my favorite thing in the world.

For my email I added a little horror spice to it.

Cool thread!

I've had mine since the mid nineties when I signed up for either another forum or ebay, can't remember which now. I've made knives since Feb of 1989 and when I tried the name knifemaker it was already used so I kept trying until I became knifemaker3

I've always given nicknames to most everyone I know--I'm pretty bad about it really. Nobody ever got one to stick on me until a buddy of mine started calling me "Cooter Brown".

I used to paddle whitewater quite a bit and he was one of my runnin' buds--I had a boat called a Cuda Max, and my last name starts with a similar sound. Started out as "Cuda" and evolved into Cooter Brown. Been called that by most of my friends for 15 years or so.

Rumors that it has something to do with brown likker have been greatly exaggerated!

I'm glad you cleared that up for us. With all the definitions of "cooter", from female genitalia, to a drunken good ole' boy, to a turtle, I wasn't sure where you fit in. Now me, I was inclined to go with that turtle thing. I figured, kinda like a guy I was in the service with, you're a turtle stew sort of guy.

Maybe I should have remained a mystery...

To tell the truth, back in those days I was occasionally "overserved".

By the way, the guy that tagged me with "Cooter Brown" was a Marine...

Mine is because I live in a log home and used to sell log homes and furniture. The 09 has no meaning. when I was setting up a account somewhere, can't remember where, logman was in use so I started putting in numbers till I got it to accept them. Logman09
