I have a S&M Gowanda also! You just got to love those old rare tang stamps. I posted the Gowanda I have previously on the Knives of Pennsylvania thread.

I was at a knife auction today and bought a few that I didn't even know I was in the market for...

nice knives knifegirl. i was looking at my knife book before the fleamarket where i found my case and the s and m gowanda and thought it would be neat to find a s and m knife, i didnt know it would be the rare tang stamp, so its really cool to find it.

The hex is off. Sat morning went to trade day to visit and sold one knife, and looked at some. My friend John came in late and said here is just what you need, untouched and at a good price. 2 5/8" pen in pearl. Broke again. ::ds:: ::ds:: Just enough patina and rust to know it's correct. I will oil the joints, and pit fish oil on the blades to kill the rust. The pocket lint will stay.

Very nice knives fellows. Hey Buck16 the white handled lockback should be worth several bucks. It is custom made by Mr. Mayhall(sorry I can't remember his first name, I think it's A.M.). Mr Mayhall died several years ago and the prices for his knives have steadily risen. Nice one.

i have one knife marked Czechoslovakia in my collection...its actually in a book i own as well.

it has on it a plastic toothpick blade, ear spoon blade, and a pen blade.
looks like tortoise celluloid handles.

real cheapo. i always wondered who made it,what company.in the book i have its even pictured in color.

by chance are yours just stamped Czechoslovakia and thats it?

Pete, I know the knife your talkin about. I have two of them, both
with the Check stamp. But one has a plastic "snuff spoon" and the other
has a metal "snuff spoon" ::shrug:: .

I was out-bid on one that was stamped "Japan".

You can't get any cheaper than a "stamped-out sheet metal blade", can ya??lol

I don't have a clue as to who is responsible for these things!
