Great pic. Looks like a Win Model 62A behind that knife.

Jerry, I like your knife pictures and your nice knives. Good work.
Wish I could get a better look at that hand plane.

Wullie, good guess on the Winchester, but it's a model 06.
It's a little bit older than the 62, it has a nice peep site and it shoots real well.

Joe, thanks for the compliments. One time is not a corner turned. We'll see.
The plane is just an ordinary everyday plane but if you want more pictures, send me a PM and I'll be glad to shoot 'em for ya.

I thought after I posted that and looked at the forend again that it was wrong for a 62A. LOL
Then I thought maybe an 1890, but the 06 never crossed my mind. I'm slippin I guess.
I've got a 62A that my dad bought in the thirties. No peep sight but it is a tack driver IF you can see the sights which is getting to be a problem for me with tri-focal glasses. Peep sights work good for older eyes though. My Garand is suitably equipped.
Keep up the good work!!
edit; looks like yours was made in 1926.

Sure do like most all appaloosa grips
and that Parker 'belly is no exception.
It also reminds me I need a new box
of bandaids.
Here's a Scallion that turned out well imho
with this combo of curves, blue & gray,
and the angle of the dangle.

Hey guys, I need some help with a camera.
I found a Minolta Dimage Z1 today at an estate sale.
I have got it working and have a SD card for it.
Is anyone familiar with this camera and all the settings on it?
I am a novice when it comes to photography, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dale

Just play with it. I googled it an came up with
DiMAGE Z1 Features:
10x Mega-zoom (38-380mm coverage) with high-speed autofocus
3.2-megapixel imager for images up to 2048 x 1536 pixels
12-bit A/D conversion provides a finer tonal gradation
1.5-inch color LCD with 113,000 pixels
Color eyelevel viewfinder with 98% coverage
Ultra High Speed 1280x960 capture at 10fps
640x480 motion video at 15fps/30fps with audio, length limited only by SD card capacity
Program AE with Shift, Aperture priority, Shutter priority and Manual exposure modes
Shutter speeds from 15 seconds to 1/1000 in Shutter priority and Manual exposures modes
Digital Program modes: portrait, sports, night portrait and sunset
Multi-segment, center-weighted and spot metering modes
Automatic noise-reduction for one second or longer exposures
5 white-balance settings including custom settings
ISO Sensitivity: Auto, 50, 100, 200, and 400 equivalents
Flash shoe for Minolta speedlights
AE Bracketing of exposure
Digital Effects Control for contrast and sharpness
Color modes: Natural, Vivid, B&W, Sepia
Three exposure-metering modes: multi-segment, center-weighted and spot
Playback/QuickView with histogram feature
PictBridge, Exif Print and Epson PRINT Image Matching II compatible
Data imprinting that records date, time and descriptive information on an image.
Powered by four standard AA type batteries
I did not see any mention of a macro setting.
I'd run it on the "Auto" setting and see what it will do.
AA batteries may be the biggest issue cost wise. There may be a rechargeable pack out there somewhere that will help to reduce that bite out of your pocket.
Take the biggest pictures it will take and then crop the pic to keep the detail without the huge size.

Thanks guys, I did find some help online but couldn't find the manual.
Jerry D. emailed me a PDF of the manual this morning. Thanks Jerry!
Here is an un-retouched pic from the new camera. All I did was crop it.
I was impressed that I could get that tiny Moseley tang big enough to read easily and still be so clear. For scale, the Moseley tuxedo is only 2" closed.
Thanks again for the help.
