Mornin' guys! Late night celebratin' my son's wedding, just now finish'n off a cup. My grandson's already on me to take 'im to the creek. Supposed to be a real scorcher today, not sure if fishin's in the plan. Maybe this evening, but he ain't gonna like that idea.
My head hurts, i'm gettin' too old for them wedding celebrations.

Oh yeah, the hurting head from too much fun! Hope you have recovered by this morning; sipping my first cup of the day here, going to go out to the shed in a little while and do a little reloading, then head down to the VFW at 0930 to pick up a load of chairs to take to the Town Common for the annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Have a good day gents.

Quit blowin' that trumpet, Scott!! You'll wake the roosters.
Been up since 6 (CDT) but, just now gettin' around to posting. Long past the first cup, though.
Was gonna head down toward Ft. Smith to visit my bro, but rain and storms for the next couple of days, so i'll probably wait til Friday to go. I'm fonchin' at the bit! He keeps sendin' me pics of all the cool knives he's finding in the pawn shops and flea markets down there.
I keep tellin' 'im to save me a few!!
Here's one he sent the other day. A Shapleigh Hrdwr. double blade auto made by Schrade Cut. Co. If I play my cards just right, it may come home with me.

Re: First cup!
First cup is always good at our place. This morning my instructions were not to get dirty 'cause you got to go to the eye doctor at 9am. Sat on the front porch and watched all the birds and wondered about the absence of squirrels this morning? There is a big rain west of us and out in the Gulf that will hopefully bring much need rain to our neck of the woods. First cup at daylight is always good, gives me time to reflect and count our blessings. Treefarmer

Re: First cup!
Treefarmer, Boy you have that right - my best thinking (and awareness-worshiping of God) is done early in the morning, watching the natural world transition from night to day, listening to the change from night noises to dawn noises, to morning noises. So much the better if I have a thermos of coffee with me. OH
Ps Hope you get the rain, we have had ten inches in May and my yard hasn't looked this nice in three years - hope it holds for the summer and we don't slip back into drought.

Re: First cup!
Yeah, I know the words to that song. I've been to three reunions now, two of LAAM Marines I was at Cherry Point with and in Viet Nam with (Mostly the same guys. We went over as a unit and a couple of months later got split up.) and the other was a reunion of guys I went through boot camp with. It gets mighty deep, mighty fast. But oh the fun we had.

Morning Jerry, sipping on my coffee and getting ready to pack up and leave for the day. Going down to Marineville shortly - have a presentation to give to the architects at MCBCL today at lunch time - when I'm done going to hit the newly renovated MCX and browse their huge knife and gun department (only MCX in this area that still sells firearms). Have a good one buddy! OH

Re: First cup!
My buddy Pete (triple dipper - retired USMC 1st Sgt and retired USPS, plus Social Security) and I took a little trip down to Camp Lejeune while attending the LAAM reunion at Cherry Point in 2007. We hit a MCX but I can't remember if it was at Cherry Point or Camp Lejeune. I don't recall it selling guns or knives but that doesn't mean anything (Ref. Senior Moments thread).
Give the boys at Camp Lejeune a big ole Semper Fi for me.
