Yep, I wrapped it up in a semi-clean shop rag and some duct tape, picked up my shop tools and drove to the hospital. They couldn't even put stitches in. There was nothing to sew. US ARMY training, mind over matter. And yes, it hurt like hell!

I did finish the music boxes, but no pictures. However, this is the finger 16 months later. Note how the finger print kind of wrapped around.

I am very impressed with the result. Being in the medical field that looks pretty good. Any numbing in the finger tip/joint? Thanks for taking the time to share the pics. Oh and by the way I suggest you never commit any crimes... your fingerprint is a dead giveaway!

I kept it bathed in silver cream and covered. It filled back in really well. No numbing at all, but there is a sensation of tightness. The fingernail is really struggling as the nail bed was screwed up. Oh well, I shouldn't have been doing what I was doing. There is still blood on the floor and sprayed around a bit. I guess that serves as a reminder to use my tools properly.

In the Hospital we often use Silver Nitrate Cloth/Packing in deep or open wounds which allows the wound to heal from the wound bed up. It also acts as a debridement and helps with the granulation of new tissue. Your finger looks really good for having not been stitched. Thanks for sharing, I'll use it as an outcome example for others who may have similar bad days. Thanks, Rocky

While taking pics to post on the bay yesterday, I opened the saw blade and my middle finger barely, barely touched the regular blade and WHAM-O!!! CUT!!

While examining the contents of a parcel from Derrick Bohn this morning a GEC 22. Magnum drew first blood. Now I know why it´s called the 22. Magnum - small but vicious!

Later, while waxing down my new beauties, I´ve got bitten by the Northwoods English Jack. It does look worse than it was but I didn´t wanted to smear blood all over the new knives.

There are surely days when one shouldn´t touch a knife....

What a way to welcome in the new year Scott! I cut up 20 lbs of venison yesterday with a butcher knife - you can bet I was paying good attention to the cutting edge and where my fingers were placed! OH

Was cleaning with the knife eraser and got a little over the edge too much.......I started bleeding purty good and had to take the blurry pic left handed.....

I sliced/cut my finger with my sharp chef knife.. Pinched it right away. Got Neosporin on it and a band aid and electric tape for pressure. It needed pressure. Cussing helps.

.....my granddad always used "jack daniels" for disinfectant(topically and internally) and then lard on the cut!!!...................... ..........................

Joe, ya know that's Tommy's cure for anything that ails ya. Cut yourself? Dip it in Jack Daniels and when you stop screaming, it will be all better. You say your wife's ugly? Knock back a couple of water glasses of Jack. She'll be a raving beauty in no time. (Tommy, that is NOT pointed at your wife.)

I grew up in ranching country and the ranchers had their own cures.
Old Frank's cure for cuts, snake bite, poison oak, broken bones and pretty much everything else was whiskey.
"Ya' drink the whiskey and rub the bottle on!"

On the neighboring the cure for bee stings was Copenhagen. That was because his wife didn't like him chewing unless he had a good excuse, (her being a church goin' lady and all), like a bee sting. That old boy could find a bees nest in a snow storm!
