All About Pocket Knives

Yesterday, this "U. S. MARINE CORPS" became the latest MIL-K pattern pocket knife to join my collection. It is an "UNKNOWN", single blade, 3 tool, brass liners pocket knife. It joins my three STEVENSON 45's, a CAMILLUS 1949, a CAMILLUS 1957, two CAMILLUS 1958's, three CAMILLUS 1959's, a CAMILLUS 1960, a SCHRADE 1982 and an ULSTER. I can't find a bail stamp, a tang stamp, or any remains of either. But, I'm 99.999% sure that this is a "KINGSTON." If it is a "KINGSTON", then it is a second pattern, MIL-K pocket knife. It is in GOOD condition and it needed cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

This morning, the latest MIL-K pattern pocket knife to join my collection is this one. It is an Imperial 1976, single blade, 3 tool pocket knife. It joins my three STEVENSON 45's, a CAMILLUS 1949, a CAMILLUS 1957, two CAMILLUS 1958's, three CAMILLUS 1959's, a CAMILLUS 1960, a SCHRADE 1982, an ULSTER and a KINGSTON(?) "U.S. MARINE CORPS." All these MIL-K pattern pocket knives have been previously posted. I didn't buy this pocket knife for any particular reason, but I did need a MIL-K pattern from Imperial. It is just one of a three MIL-K pocket knife lot that I bought. The other two have NOT been posted yet. It is in Near Mint condition and it didn't need cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

It joins my three STEVENSON 45's, a CAMILLUS 1949, a CAMILLUS 1957, two CAMILLUS 1958's, three CAMILLUS 1959's, a CAMILLUS 1960, a SCHRADE 1982, an ULSTER, a KINGSTON(?) "U.S. MARINE CORPS" and an Imperial 1976. All of these MIL-K pattern pocket knives have been previously posted. I didn't buy this pocket knife for any particular reason, but I did need a MIL-K pattern from Queen. I believe it is actually CAMILLUS made, but I'm not 100% sure. This is just one of a three MIL-K pocket knife lot that I bought. One has been previously posted. One has not been posted yet. It is in Near Mint condition and it didn't need cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

This USMC mil k joined the ranks here the other day. Wasn’t sure who made it at first but after some feedback from a esteemed member here believe it’s a Stevenson . Has no stamp ,etch or bail markings. It does have the Midel (?) not stainless covers. All Carbon tools and blade.May clean them a little then carry it a bit.

JP, I believe that is one of the 2nd generation Marine Corp knife. On the 1st generation the
screw driver was paired with the main blade. Very cool find.

Floyd ,appreciate that info. In the last few days of doing some research there’s a lot to learn about the early ones . Didn’t know about the First ,second gen etc,etc. from a glance they all look the same . Will be paying a little more attention to the older ones from now on .

Recently found a '67 Imperial to go with my '67 Camillus. The Imperial lanyard is from Germany, my sister made the one on the Camillus.

Thanks, Skip. Finding one without a broken spring is somewhat tricky too.

I have accumulated quite a few of these over the years.

Here are a few of them.....

We’re there any versions of these that were produced with different ,or less blades?

I’ve seen a few listed without the leather awl , but was not able to confirm if that was just somebody’s mod off a basic 4 blade model

I think I've seen a 2 blade version, not sure if it was military issued.
