IMHO, the question should be why would anyone pay $300 for a pocket knife. I understand “collectibility”, and the gotta have that knife mind set. I just can’t wrap my head around paying that much, or more for a “production” pocket knife. Will these knives really be an “investment” and, if so, will the ROI be significant? Or maybe it’s like an old man with a young “trophy wife”, an ego trip.

Cause people want them. At the OKCA show in April, I saw all kinds of $500-2000 pocket knives that sold out fast. Some were vintage Case, Schrade, collectible brands. Some Chris Reeves, Rhidian knives, Ohta and many many customs. I saw many GEC sell for well north of $300. There is a whole higher level of the knife world pricing and demand I did not even know about. Blows the mind.
