Nice carvings c-wade7.

Always like seeing your work.
Had to take a little time off from carving after getting cut to heal up. Back at it with this simple humming bird out of a stick from a beech tree.
Seems like a sharp knife and some band-aids are necessary if you whittle. I like the bird

Nice little bird! I don’t wear a glove or thumb guard, and usually end up with a bunch of micro cuts in my thumb pad from using it as a stop. Hope you get it healed up good.

I have a friend who gave me a book I was looking for so i made him a little thank you. He owns the local newspaper and is a professor of journalism, so he is into to political memorabilia. These are made from a 2x2 pine board ripped down the center on the table saw. Remember it’s more than a right it’s your civic duty to vote!

I tell ya, we have a hot City Council race going in our small town and I can’t imagine what a pain it would be. I have attend many meetings and dealt with them personally and all the folks complaining and posting online have no clue what they have done or have going, much less have attended a meeting. I take the vote for “Head Wood Butcher” in town but that’s where my political career ends!

Wise man. Someone said, only in America can an intelligent, moral young man apply himself and become the President but how come none ever do.

Simple little stylized Angel I made for the daughter in law to give to her mom for Mother’s Day. She called last week and asked if I could do it for her, and I’m a sucker so….

Thanks! It was a fairly quick easy project and kept me occupied. I’m always trying to find something new to do. If you got any ideas shoot me a message, I’m up for a little challenge.

Slow day at work so I lopped a branch off a tree in the fence row and used the rough rider to make a little caricature. The tree branch had been pruned before and was in a China berry tree cluster so I didn’t know until I got the brake skinned that it was Bois D’ Arc. Being green it carved fairly easy either way.
