Neither have I ever seen them. 2 of the 12 darts missing in the package. I think they are pretty cool. I think 1970ish from the packaging but i have to research it.

I recall seeing those advertised. Usually as part of an air pistol advertisement, showing the ammunition choices for the gun. Neat stuff. Thanks for posting it.

Good choice Monk. 1100 is a good shotgun. They were pretty popular back in the late '70s - early '80s when I was shooting skeet.

I shot skeet, first with a Rem. 1100, then tried a Fox 16 ga side by side (NFG but maybe it was me) and before I gave up the sport, partially because I was lousy at it, I used a S&W 1000.

The 1100 is a great gun! I have daddy's old 1100lt from the 70's with two barrels. I love it. I also have a Sportsman 48 20 gauge with fancy wood, hand cut checkering, Simmons doughnut post rib, and cutts compensator. It's a goodern too. It was someone's skeet gun, but this year I think it'll be a fine dove gun.

Nice Shotgun, Monk! Pretty wood on that one, and looks like it has been taken care of.

My Remington's have been posted previously in this thread...

Model 11 from 1924
Model 58 from 1958
Versa Max from 2013

I would like to round out Remington genealogy with a model 48 and an 1100 at some point. I have been eyeballin' some used 1100's on gunbroker.com....but would kind of like to buy one in person so I can check it out a little better.

Decent used shotguns do not gather much dust in the pawn shops down here in Texas. You have to be quick!

Thanks Gents! Thought they were cool even though air gun.

Nice bird gun Monk! Nice powder .45 also GD. Any other posts or comments I missed, I apologize as I really like this thread and no post is not a good one!

They day started as a knife day and progressed to guns. So I bought a Henry .22 from the hardware store that is chambered for .22 S/L/LR. Sweety little .22 that will be my Grandson's someday, "My papa's rifle". He is only 5 years old in 2 months but he will be quite the Outdoorsman but will be awhile before I relinquish it to him. He is out in the desert at the moment with his Dad scouting for big game with hunting season round the corner.

In the gun stuff I got from my Dad, a NIB Bushnell .22 rifle scope, unused in original box. paperwork inside has a copyright of 1968' on it. looks like located in Pasadena CA at the time. Made in Japan. Should go well on this rifle. Pictured with a "SEARS, ROEBUCK & CO." target, pack of 50 I found also. Says "For best results always use Sears ammunition" on them. Pretty old I am sure.

Will be nice to hand off to the grandson from me with something from my Dad on it also. I hear these guns are very accurate. Will soon find out.

I picked up some stuff awhile back. I have what looks to be a 25-21 Stevens reloading tool. The cartridge was created in 1897'. "Oboslete" according to "Gun Catridges of the World".

What can anyone tell me about this? Year made? Value? Looks to be complete.

Thanks, Jerry

CC I agree with you about most Rugers trigger pull but, I have to respectfully disagree with you about Ruger not having a reputation for accuracy. I have a Ruger model 10/22 rifle that will drive roofing tacks at 100 yards if the shooter will do their part. The rifle is so accurate that it gets boring shooting it because there is no missing or hard shots. I have had the same results with other Ruger model 10/22 rifles. I also have a Ruger model 77 MK II in 300 Win. Mag. caliber that will shoot a 1 1/2 inch grouping at 350 yards any day of the week. There's a good friend of mine that has a Ruger model 77 MK II in .270 Win. caliber that will shoot a tighter group at 350 yards than my 300 Win. Mag. Ruger will. I would like to fire both of the Ruger model 77 MK II rifles on a longer range but the 350 yard range is the longest range we have that is within a hour and a half drive for us. I do have to say that the triggers in both model 77 MK II rifles are not factory Ruger triggers. I replaced them with a lighter glass breaking aftermarket trigger kit. The original Ruger triggers that were in them were horrible. ::barf:: Ruger purposely puts those awful triggers in their firearms to keep the ambulance chasing lawyers away from them. The Ruger MK I, MK II, and MK III pistols in .22 LR. caliber are very accurate Ruger firearms. Most of them will shoot more accurate than a man can hold them and shoot them. I hunt squirrel in late season when all the leaves are off with a Ruger MK III in .22 LR. caliber and I've made head shots out to 65 yards with the MK III pistol. The S&W K-22 target revolver in .22 LR. caliber I have will not shoot as good as the Ruger MK III pistil I have, at paper punching target shooting or hunting game ,and they have almost the same length barrels. I'm not saying the S&W doesn't shoot good because it does, it just doesn't shoot as good as the Ruger MK III pistol. There are some Ruger models that I don't like because they don't shoot well but I have to give Ruger the credit they deserve, they do make some very fine shooting firearms. Firearms are like vehicle brands, there's good and bad in all of them.

Aimus
All I have anymore are a 1911, a .22 revolver, a .38 Derringer, a Russian M39 Carbine and 4 .22 rifle.

But back when I had a Mini 14 in Blue Steel and Wood that would drive tacks. Later on I had a Stainless Mini 14 that had trouble hitting the side of a barn from the INSIDE!

I had a Romanian SKS that was more accurate than one buddies Russian and another buddies Norinco. It really sucked to have to sell so many of my guns!

Gotta love a Ruger rifle wasn't a big fan of the Mini's or the .22 pistol everybody had to own but shot the heck outta 10/22's and 77's--I have a stainless 77 .22 that I won't part with it's unreal head poppin rifle with iron sights I do have it scoped but I just don't have eyes anymore--I'll take some images of my Robo Ruger 10/22 that is also unreal accurate that I had built back in 92 before everybody and their brother had to have a Bull Barrel .22---had a 77 Hornet & 22-250 plus the .22 stainless synthetic stock and a blue one with walnut walnut stock--box clips are the s... when it comes to small bore one fits in your auto or the bolt and you can get them ANYWHERE!! and Ruger knew that--they made them available anywhere & everywhere---I always out killed with those clip fed .22's most of the time I'd be throwing meat in the truck while my buddy with a tube feed was still loading

Thanks for the links Moss!

I have a mini-14 stainless, folding stock I just love. Only issue is it takes practice and a "knack" to load the magazine (30 and 40 rounders0 or you may end up in your hand instead of the gun. Shoots as well as you can, no issue there.

Yes Sir Carmillus, The Henry is silky smooth for sure. Great gun for 300 bucks. I got the scope on it and took it out for a whirl this morning. If it was not for the beer last night and too much coffee this morning, very sure the groups would be tighter, not the gun's fault. Tuned up the scope. 50 yards, prone with no rest. Pretty accurate, more so if I was less shaky today. First pic.

Second pic is my BushMaster XM-15 .223/ 5.56. FIrst time I shot it. Ran 20 rounds thru it before this target. Open sights, 50 yards, prone with no rest, 16 rounds at 1 second or less intervals. Recover form slight muzzle jump and fire again. Really liking this gun. Handles beautifully!!! Barrel does get extremely hot. Pic 2.

Not the tightest groups but consistent nonetheless. Left them aiming alittle high for now to check bullet drop at the range at 100 and 200 yards.

Oh, and a Russian M44 I picked up a few years back for $59.99 at the local sporting goods store. Side folding bayonet. 7.62x54R. Tight gun once I got all the cosmoline off it after 4 hours of cleaning.

Fo 60 bucks plus tax, I can live with that as it is an extremely solid firearm. Built to last for sure.

Check this out. Looks like a old muzzleloader powder measure with funnel. My guess on the pin that comes out of the handle is a flint lock cleaner. Any ideas on how old this might be?

Regarding your powder measure, A couple of years back I came into a shooters box full of Black powder and tools for the guns. There was included one of these measures which looked to be only a couple of years old at the time. I would not be surprised if they were not currently available. That of course does not address how old or valuable the item you have is. If original to the period it is more than likely quite expensive. I don't believe they had machine tools to cut the indents and numbers on the incremented stick in the middle 1800's though. Is there any possibility the pin could be used on the feed tube for the percussion cap. I certainly could be mistaken on the tools.

Back in the day we loaded some shotgun shells with black powder and wadding. The smoke was AWESOME!
I'd like to get a Black Powder gun or two but I can't afford to pay attention!

I might have a few of those reloads hanging around somewhere but I don't even have the single shot 12g I had back then.
