Old J. Rogers and Sons Whaler I found at the OKCA show last month. Great stag in great shape and the walk and talk and action on this is pretty amazing for the age and I assume high level of wear and tear. Sweet old English knife though. Even put their address in the stamp.

Here is a refined little knife at just 3" closed. Fancy bolsters and pearl handles with sunken joints and all blades stamped on both the front and back of the tangs. Front tangs stamped either Rodgers Cutlers To Her Majesty or No 6 Norfolk Street Sheffield on the front and the standard star and cross on the back of all tangs. Goins book dates this to c 1837-1890.

A.L. Babcock come to BIllings Montana in 1890. Started a hardware store and ended up help build the town. This knife is a stag handled lock back whittler tang stamped A.L. BABCOCK HARDWARE CO. on all three blades. Check out his history.

Hawksley & Burch congress knife - Sheffield 1856 to mid 1860
This is a very old knife.
My main question is - were the small very narrow blades made that way, or just the result of excessive sharpening ?
Any comments or opinions welcomed

Blades were definitely not made that way, used and sharpened a lot. Still a great knife
