I have been craving a platterfull of Yellow Perch, think I will travel North soon and hit up one of my favorite spots on a Friday night.

They are a beautiful looking fish. Do they taste as good as they look.

That would be fun, but I was talking about heading to an AYCE Perch Friday night at one of my favorite dives in Michigan or Northern Indiana. That is doing it the easy way. There are no Yellow Perch where I live.

Caught a bobcat on the game camera down by the gun range on the back part of our property a few weeks ago. The barrels are to set your guns on while shooting. The camera is strapped to one of the posts of the backstop. We've seen deer, fox, and coyote down there recently as well.

That's a nice size cat, Unk. I see them on the mountain at the farm from time to time. Once I was ATVing up a ridge trail and came across one carrying a rabbit in it's mouth. I got on the gas hard for a better look, but it left me in the dust.

Rolled up on a black bear once too, same result. But I did get some porcupine pictures earlier this year, they're slow. We were biking at the beach last week and a fox was running behind some bikers coming toward us, we thought it was their little dog at first.

One ran across the road as I was driving a few years ago. It was nice to be so close and get a good, but short, view of an amazing cat.

Early hints of changing seasons at the pond here in old Connecticut today.

Red, we have seen several porcupines at the deer lease while we were riding around in the Ranger at night. They are kind slow and clumsy, but it's entertaining to watch them amble off into the bushes.

Took my better half out for a joy ride. We try to take a ride somewhere every week. Local police allow for 4 wheelers and side by sides to be rode anywhere in the county. We have been to town to eat in side by side several times. I see them on main street every time I go to town. Reclaimed coal mines and gas well roads offer plenty of good rides. This is second herd of wild horses I know of. Hillbilly heaven here on earth. lol

Great photo, they just camouflage and blend in so well, you can understand why they are such great hunting animals.

I posted this “hack” in the pets thread, but it dawned on me that some of our outdoorsmen might benefit from this old hound hunter hack.

In the morning, the boys and I are taking Sally (15 month old Blackmouth cur tree dog) out to the woods to see if she can accidentally bump into a squirrel. Young pups out in the field sometimes don’t like to be caught since they’re having so much fun.

You can tie a long check cord to them, but those get tangled in the brush. Soooo, take a long piece of string trimmer line, tie a snap on one end, and hook it to their collar. The trimmer line won’t tangle around brush and when you get close enough, just step on the line. I thought it might be if use if you ever have your dog out in the wilds and they don’t like to come back.

Here’s Sally and the “insurance policy”. As you can see, she ain’t spoiled a bit.
