DIL is a Wizard of Oz fan so I made her Dorthy for Christmas. Painting was a beating but I’m happy with it.

I bet the painting of the dress was labor intensive .
Great work.

Nice carving C-WADE7.
I'm making these for the grandkids Christmas ornaments this year. Made out of a stick from my dad's farm.( Their great Grandpa.) some copper wire and tinfoil and a little white paint.

This is a guy who’s a handy man around town, before I knew him we called him “The Angry Walker” because he was head down almost stomping steps. I’ve got to know him now and he’s a good guy, just rough around the edges.

I bet I would recognize him if I say him on the street. I especially like how you depicted the head down. Great work. Is that your sweetheart in the back ground?

Thanks,
If you had that as a go by and saw him on the street I’m pretty sure you could pick him out, he’s something else. As for the lady, no, it’s an employee of my wife’s at our deli. She has been with us since we opened.

My brother was jealous of the co-workers and the caricatures of myself and the guy from town(who works for my brother often in his welding shop) , so I carved him for a Christmas gift. It came out pretty good. He’s a couple years older than me, his beard is white and hair is still brown, my beard has a lot of brown still but my hair has a lot of silver.

Are the arms movable on that one C-W? 🤔 You are good at capturing character.

No, they are glued in place. I use 2x2 pine from the lumber yard(too cheap to by actual 2x2 Bass wood for carving). The 5.5” height is too narrow to do arms included. I use toothpicks to dowel them on. The dowels showed up bad being end grain and soaking the watered pigment in. The caricature of me is glued up too.

Just part of your creativity. And your using pine makes it more impressive.

Tried my hand at carving a little snowman from a Doug Linker utube video. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Carved with a Case seahorse whittler.
