Some light sheetrock duty so it was time for a new blade. Unbranded liner lock folding utility knife. Very compact blade.

I also gave a utility knife a workout today. Some cardboard had to be cut up so it would go in the recyclables container.

That's actually a Gerber ... EAB I think it's called.
I have one, too

Really? I'm shocked it doesn't say Getber anywhere. Figured it was a no name knock off or something. Can't believe a company like Gerber doesn't mark it or get some exposure and advertising by putting the name on it. Seems strange. Thanks for the info.

I have one too I-man, it has a stencil marking on it. Not very strong... might wear off easy...
Used my Case XX to cut some wires off some scrap metal.

I have the regular EAB model--I mostly use it for rougher jobs, but what I like best is that you can use almost all of the length of the blade. I keep Lenox Gold (or carbide too sometimes) in mine, and they hold an edge for a really long time. If I'm using a utility knife mostly for cutting stuff out of paper, I'll have to touch up the tip, but that's about it.
Another good "beater" I recommend is the Outdoor Edge Razor Lite series. I got one in the first POS Exchange I ever did here, and bought blades the day I got it. It'll do the same jobs, but gives you a 3.5" blade in the same weight and bulk as a regular folding utility knife. They also offered a 3.0" blade model, and there's a 2.5" blade model that I really like. There's drop, Wharncliffe/box cutter, and serrated blades, as well as a gut hook for the 3.5".

Thanks for the comment Cody. Glad you use and like them, it's a cool folder and I'm using it more and more.
On another note, it's woodstove season and been using it every day. Used this WW2 Scout for making some curls and shavings to get it going. Great knife. Sweet smooth action, nice bones, great fit and finish and stropping is all it needs to bring the edge back where I like.

I normally post on the whittling/woodcarving section. I used these two to carve out a hillbilly/gnome. Case seahorse whittler and a Buck 307.

I just bought this old beat-up Loomfixer with a lot of (mostly) pretty battered Cases at my local knife store, and I have already put it to use.
The old girl needed some grit cleaned out (as they said it was lazy--but the real reason was that unlike normal, they didn't clean it well), and she'll still bite your finger off if you're not careful. Will need to patch up that unsightly missing chunk of bone, but I think this knife will be good for another 60-84 years. Condition is much so that I don't have to be afraid of using it, but everything is still propertly tight, so it's safe.

Went on a hike in the woods yesterday, and the only time I pulled out my Kershaw flipper was to slice an apple.

Two months late, just saw this post. That last (3rd pic of group) is great, imo! Awseome shot!

Ahhh, well never would have guessed RR. Did not imagine that. Cool blade profile.
