TF yesterday was the start of gun season. We hunted a new patch of woods with bad rains. For me the rain doesn't bother me but I had a whole new set of aches at the end of the day ::nod::

Morning here in the Outdoors thread . Thought would show off nephews 13 point whitetail he shot last night . Nephew Nick ( in hi vis green sweater) has been very instrumental in the Deer management down in Buffalo County . If you search for good whitetail country in the US A this is about as good as it gets up here . Hard hunting with the steep hills and dark valleys but there is a mineral here that the deer really like and they get to be decent size .
Enjoy your day out there and stay safe .

::tu:: Congratulations to your nephew Nick! That is a fine deer!
Glad to see the management program he is involved in is working!
There are 16 different property owners around our 80 acre home place, makes such a program impossible, same problem around the leased timber land. Have to take the attitude, if you want venison you better get him or he'll jump the fence and someone else will down him. It would be a wonderful experience to be involved in such a management project. Some of the the big farms and ranches in the Panhandle and south Alabama have enough land to show great success with such deer management.
