Those aren't Pheasants, they're Road Runners!

At the moment the light show from Aurora Australis is absolutely spectacular and the best viewing for years. Here is a photo from Casey Station Base at the Antartic.

Yeah that fits ol' John! Since I am a little older than you, check out the Hank Snow version of this song. I can't knock the Johnny Cash version though, just as good imo.
Incidentally, I looked it up to see if there was an earlier version than the one by Hank Snow. This song was actually written by an Australian, and contained town names from Australia.

It appears that the European Red Stag has migrated to Georgia. One has been spotted on game cameras Several times near Wrens Ga. Estimated weight 400 pounds.

Apparently our bachelor group is still getting along with each other as the beginning of the rut is at least a month away. I've posted before, the rut peaks around the 3rd week of January and is still going at the end of February when the season is over. Maybe one of these ol' boys will make a mistake while I'm watching. Also ol' Wiley E. and his buddy need to show up in the clover patch![/attachment] Treefarmer

When does the Gun season start down in your neck of the woods?
And Ol Wiley E . Can you as landowners shoot them or do they have any kind of season for hunting them ?

JP, Florida's deer season is a very long one. The state is divided into zones and in zone A (Everglades area) archery started on July 1, 2021. the season progresses north and then west to zone D where we live. Actually zone D is divided by I-10 into different zones, we are on the south side, DMU D1. Our archery started October 23. Rifle season starts on Thanksgiving Day, runs for 4 days then closes until December 11th and then runs through February 20 when Muzzle loading opens for another 7 days. There's an earlier M/L season in December 4 through the 10th that I forgot about.
Coyotes, wild hogs, rabbits, 'possums, skunks, nutria and beavers can be taken year round, there is a bag limit on the rabbits.
The state used to have a very liberal bag limit, 2 deer per day with 4 in possession. Put em in the freezer and continue on hunting. In archery season does are legal, then when gun season starts there are a very limited number of doe days allowed. We can only kill 5 deer per season now with only 2 being does. For some reason the Biologist in Florida don't think like the other states' Biologists where they try to balance the herd.
