Thanks I. H. for the pic & info.
There was an article in Knife World within the last 2-3 years about those.
I will have to see if I can find the article.
I can't remember the dating on them, but I remember seeing the article.

I saw a thistle top at Mark Zalesky's table at the OKCA show last month.
Pretty cool stuff! 8)
Thanks for sharing! ::tu::

Here are two I picked up at a yard sale today. The first is a J. Russell & Co Green River Works jack. I think it's pretty old, as the liners are all steel. The second knife is a Russell USA one-arm jack. I'm not sure if everything's original on it... the pins are different sizes and I wonder why the "R" on the back bolster is upside down. But it was only $10 so I figured it was worth a shot. Any opinions on the condition of the one-arm jack are greatly appreciated since these are my first two Russell knives.

O.K. dcgm4, so your at a yard sale and you snag these two Russells, and they're your first Russells?
Thats just not fair!! And one for 10 bucks. That's just not fair!!
That bareheaded jack is one of the finest Russells I've seen in a long time. And the Barlow is really nice.
I hope it's "all there" for you. If it isn't I hope it's something you can put up with.
Very cool knives!!!
And thank you for your nice comment on my recent finds........ it ain't fair I tell ya.... it just ain't fair.........

"Some days you get the water buffalo,
Some days the water buffalo get you!”

Either was it is a lot of bull!!

Nice old Russells!
Congrats on a great find and a real bargain.

Thanks, guys. From what I've seen on eBay, it seems that old Russells in good condition are getting harder to come by. I know I really lucked out on those two. Hopefully, I didn't use up all of my luck on them though!

FRJ, even if the barlow has been repaired or cobbled together with parts I have no problem turning it into an EDC. ::nod::

I've got both blades on the Imperial Ireland Dogleg Jack just about sharp as I like 'em to be.
It's been getting pocket time!

What’s not to love about a dog-leg jack with Rogers Bone?
Great lookin dog leg Dale!
That looks like the telltale small Winchester shield. What say you?

I know it's not a pocket knife but hey the only one of those I found today was a no name all metal gents knife with engine milled scales. At any rate I found the top one today and the other one a couple months ago. Collins Legitimus Model 1250 Canadian Army machetes dated 1943 and 1944. The sheaths are dated 1941 and 1947 on the top one and 1944 on the bottom one.

I will kick my a** up and down for not buying them.
I would get my a** kicked up and down if I had bought them.
One Ulster, one Robeson. Both Barlows. Both Amber smooth bone.
One spear one clip.
Good patina.
Good if not GREAT walk and talk.
Both showing little or no blade wobble.
And the two of them for $50.

It is enough to bring me to tears!

Did pick up a Case yellow CV Peanut.
And a Sabre Ireland Camper's Knife. Scales held on by tabs bent over inside the liners.
Good Nice Fat Spear Point blade. With some Spider Webbing on it. Needed lube!

Pics when I get home although I wont be home for very long this time.

Iron Hoarder, Those are great looking machetes. Made by a very well known company just a short drive from where I live.

I have included a little history. Thanks for posting them.

Thanks for the short history on Collins. They are one of my favorite companies to collect and use. I buy every decent American Made knife and tool I come across over here. Hopefully the wife will decide that she's tired of being over here and some day we can move back to the US and I'll bring them with me.
