Mornin' all! Did ya'll get the roosters woke up?
Little t-storm came rolling thru this a.m., it's 60 here.
Been gettin' a few knives ready for one of the 2 monthly swap meets in the area. Pretty informal affairs, you go and pay your $5 vendor fee and set up wherever there's an empty space. Not likely to make my fortune, but it is fun to meet and greet. I even manage to find the occasional knife to add to my collection.

Maybe that's why I don't make alot of money at these things!

There really aren't alot of collectors show up at the swap meets, mostly farm and ranch folk lookin' for a good user. Good folks and some of the biggest, baddest homemade cinnamon rolls on the planet!
Ya'll have a good'n!

Did you say "homemade cinnamon rolls"?? I'll be right down. Just let me get the private jet warmed up. Where's the closest place to land?
Speaking of warming up, I'm about ready to turn on the furnace. You could hang meat in here this morning. It's only 55* and not much warmer in the house.

Come on down Jerry, there's 60 acres of open pasture right behind the house. Mind the cows and horses, they don't know they're not supposed to stand in the middle of a runway!

I'll radio you on my approach and you can shoo 'em off.
Actually a fella I was in Viet Nam with, does have a grass runway on his property. For whatever that has to do with anything.

That's likely what would happen to Jerry if he tried to set down a Learjet on this back 60!
My house, or atleast very close, is on one of the flight paths between Fort Chaffee(NW AR) and Fort Leonard Wood(SW MO). They frequently use this area for training runs. It's not unusual to see Warthogs, B-52's and C-130's going over. Day before yesterday, a B-52 came over at about 1000 feet. That'll make the ol' heart start pumpin'!! The Warthogs are a real kick to watch! They usually fly over in pairs and at times, it appears that one pair will be chasing or tracking the other pair. Every now and then, one of the Stealth's will do a fly by. Or, so i've heard!

NYUK! NYUK!

Welcome everyone, to a chilly Saturday. Just one more day, like every other day, in the life of a retired man doing what ever the heck he wants to do when ever the heck he wants to do it (within financial limits of course). I had to close the windows and turn the heat back on yesterday. I was freezing my widdle toes off.

Mornin folks. I'm a man on a mission. We're having navy beans and cornbread for lunch at one of my favorite loafing spots today. (The local pawn shop/Rook parlor) I'm in charge of the cornbread. Gonna make up two skillets full and maybe some corn sticks for good measure. After lunch I guess I'll just fart around the rest of the day.
Have a great Saturday!

Phil, let's hope the individual who makes those beans remembers to put a little fresh baking soda in 'em.

Haven't decided what that will be yet........
