Interesting area and great pictures.
What are we looking at in the 7th picture?

That's an off the bridge shot of an old C&O Canal lock that was used to raise and lower canal boats carrying goods from Georgetown to Cumberland.

The woods are really starting to "wake up" in my area, all kinds of plants and flowers emerging. Here are just a few samples from my walk this evening.

Nice pics, John. Evidently, you were on a portion of a fairly lengthy trail? The shelter is why I ask. Nice knife pic, too.

Back atcha Ike.. Thank You..
Yes.. We were on a section of the North Country Trail which is 4700 miles.. North Dakota to Maine..
There are these shelters at distances of 10-30 miles apart that are built and maintained by different Section Chapters.. As are the trails too.. They are really nice trails to hike..

Nice pics, gentlemen!
I always seem to capture pics of an interesting variety of wildlife on the backside of my place. All these critters wandered by over a roughly two week period recently. The bobcat took a roll in the dirt, then sauntered off into the woods.
The only one that concerns me is the pack of feral dogs. There are about 7 of them in the pack, and I have been capturing them running across my place early in the morning every other week or so. They have attacked and killed / injured some dogs, cats, and livestock in the area.

Nice critter pictures, Unk.
I went morel hunting on Saturday, got some nice pictures of some Red Buds in bloom. Managed to find about a half dozen morels, still early yet I guess.
Also took some local cherry blossom pictures close to the Potomac River in Alexandria. They're falling like pink snow now.

For sure mate. I just don't have the skill to find them, and not choose the poisonous ones instead.
Dad knows what to look for, so we should go out sometime, and He can show me what to look for.

Feral/wild dogs are a major problem here for especially sheep farmers, and wildlife.
