Picked this beauty at a yard sale last Thursday. Was tossed n a box of 30 or so beat up knives. Box was marked $5 each, I couldn’t pay fast enough! So 5 bucks ( see what I did there) for the knife , a nickels with of polish and oil, a paper towel and my lunch break turned it back into the carried but never used knife you see here!

That is a beauty, CHNeal ::tu:: To find a 72-86 almost mint 319 in that good of shape for five 'bucks' is amazing. It's a keeper for sure.

Thanks guys. I don’t usually get that lucky. I have some great knives but I’ve had to search them out, not have them drop in my lap.

Went to the park after the flea market.....here's my finds...

The Western is nice but dangles open when turned upside down. The folding bowie is made in Japan.

Found this Schmidt & Ziegler , 3 5/8" Congress, fancy bolsters and a Bull shield and good snap on the blades. The space between the liner is because the entire knife has a bend to it ,liners ,backsprings and bone handle are bent.Tried to get that in the last photo.

knifegnome,
That's an interesting knife! Looks like it has been in someone's pocket for a while.
What is the reasoning behind a knife with that shape?

I'm guessin' here but I wonder if, because of the shape of the bolsters, the knife could have been used for a bicycle Tire iron (tyre Lever). Might explain the bend as well. Thanks

I have no real ideas about the bend but Schmidt & Ziegler had some of the best ever carbon steel. ::tu::

I have a really nice Catt whittler that had a bend in it and my repair guy tried everything he knew to straighten it and finally took the scales off and put them back on and it straightened out.____Dave

Hey Scott...here's a merchandising statement you can use to promote the Western knife.

The Western Dangler, a unique and rare concept in knife opening solutions. This knife has a quick 'upside down' opening technique that is so fast that; just a flip of the wrist will have it locked into position and ready for use. Don't hesitate on this one, for it won't last long. ::tu::

I like that stone, Tony. I am not a razor collector, I do have a couple from Shapleigh and Simmons but I was totally unaware of this St louis company until just now.
