Hey Mike, he sure is got a layer of Fat don’t he ! Love the jelly doughnuts comment . Maybe Philip is got the secret ingredient for the elusive whitetail “ jelly Doughnuts “ . The ones we harvested this year didn’t have near that much of a fat layer but had been thru the rut .It’ll be interesting to see what the rest of winter brings for Florida and up here . That Buck wasn’t in the rut yet though ,don’t believe, and that’ll burn a lot of fat off . Big bodied deer overall .
Looks like a great place OH. Great to get out!!Old Hunter wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 9:58 pm Had a nice warm day today, 65 degrees and had a lady to stay with our daughter, so the wife and I took a walk in the Croatan National Forest, just a short trail near where we live (a few miles walk). Had a nice time checking out the ponds and pocosins along the trail. There are some Long Leaf Pines growing wild in the forest, most woods I hunt are Yellow Pine nowadays. A Buck Vantage makes a good trail knife, but I didn’t have to cut anything. OH
Sure it does John..1967redrider wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 4:58 am Does walking on the beach count?

Year is starting GOOD.. Just scored the Red Synthetic handled 6175 on the Bay!!!Old Hunter wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 2:46 am Thanks John! We have some nice outdoor recreational opportunities very close by - wife and I were laughing at ourselves for living here 4-1/2 years and we just today took this easy hike! By the way, I saw your remark about your Grail Knife. Not sure how hard they are to find now, but I used to see them on eBay and on the exchange here from time to time. There is also a 6175 from 2002 in jigged Antique bone, real nice looking when I saw one ten years or so ago. OH
Congratulations! That is a good outdoorsman's knife as well. OHjmh58 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 4:30 pmYear is starting GOOD..
