Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em

Colonial Knife was incorporated in 1926 by three brothers; Antonio, Domenic, & Fredrick Paolantonio. It grew to become one of the largest pocket knife manufacturers in the US during the 1960s. The company shut down in 1998, but was back into production under the Colonial Cutlery International Corporation in 2001. Colonial Cutlery International, Inc. brand is the imported line of knives and tools while the U.S.A.- made products fall under the Colonial Knife brand.

The following pocket knives have been included in the various groups or lots of pocket knives that I have purchased over the last few years. I do NOT purposely search for and buy these advertising pocket knives. However, they do end up being added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. There are ten pocket knives total, nine pocket knives have COLONIAL tang stamps and one pocket knife has an Ambassador tang stamp. Nine of the pocket knives measure 2 3/4" closed and one pocket knife measures 3" closed. ALL ten of the pocket knives have two blades and two springs. ALL ten pocket knives are in GOOD condition. I took a couple of pictures and here they are.

Recently was awarded "custody" of my dad's knives, first Colonial of his that I have come across. Only know this knife as the electricians knife because I had a similar one that came with a Jensen tool kit I used years ago. Tang stamp on it was Klein Tools.

That is a strange coincidence!
Regarding the blister packs, you're welcome. ::tu:: ::tu::
I don't know if you saw this one (1972) that I previously posted.

And now it is complete.

And now I'll have 1 full (gave the other complete one away) and 2 with no scales. Just going to have to get better at handle conversions I guess. Unless there's a pot full of colonial hobo scales at the end of the rainbow.

Not too recently, this advertising pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. This particular advertising pocket knife was NOT the reason for my purchase. However, it did turn out to be a keeper and it did end up being added to my general, advertising, pocket knife accumulation. It is a U.S.A., two blades, one tang stamp, 3 1/2" closed, two springs, tipped bolsters, advertising, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "U.S.A." The main handle side says, "Ford" (written) and has the image of a Ford automobile. The main blade has a SOFT half stop, a SOFT opening snap and NO closing snap. The secondary blade also has a SOFT half stop, a SOFT opening snap and NO closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. Absolutely NO cleaning was required. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Not too recently, these two money clip, lobster or gentleman, pattern or style of pocket knives, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. They now become my latest examples to be posted under this topic or thread. These two particular pocket knives were NOT the target of my purchase. But, they both did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. They are both COLONIAL, one blade, one tool (a file), two tang stamps, 1 1/8" X 2" closed, money clip, lobster or gentleman, pattern or style of pocket knives. Both of the main blade front tang stamps (partially obscured) say, "STAINLESS (over) COLONIAL (over) PROV. U.S.A." The tool front tang stamp says "STAIN (over) LESS" Both pocket knives have a "cracked ice" scale on one handle side. The other handle side has the money clip. Both pocket knives are in VERY GOOD condition. Both pocket knives needed NO cleaning. I just wiped them off. I took some pictures and here they are.

Greetings. Glad I found this forum. I've always enjoyed pocket knives, but I've never really chased after it. Then I found The Knife Doctor on youtube and it rekindled my interest. I was looking in the drawer that I keep the knives and I noticed these two Colonials. I went online to research them and found your forum. I have no idea how long I've had them nor where I got them. But they're great little pocket knives and I'm happy to have them. If anyone has info on them, that would be awesome.

Thanks, Ron

I don't have information for your particular knives. When I first joined AAPK we had a member whose family once owned Colonial, and he was always eager to tell model numbers, when they were manufactured, and who worked the line that produced a knife. He has since passed away, but many of his posts are still available here if you look back through old posts.
I can tell you that Colonial was a good American knife company that produced many low-cost yet high-quality knives.
The company is still in business today, though under new ownership and carrying newer style knives.
Jesus is life.
Everything else is just a hobby.

Those look similar to the knives that Colonial made for sharp. They were sold at Kmart in the early 80's, I believe. I think they also stamped Anvil on some of them, which is a brand of Colonial.

Regarding the RANGER.....
Per GOINS' 1998 edition, "RANGER c 1938-1951 A trademark used by Colonial."

I do, yes. It was probably an advertising knife. The ink from whatever company it was made for is gone.
