Boy, I'm glad Global Warming has returned to the Florida Panhandle, we had a low of 64 and a high of 74 today! Actually perspired enough today to break into a sweat. Did a little electrical work today and got hot. The weather folks are saying we are fixin' to have another venture into the 20s in a few days. All these rains have skirted around our part of the world and things are fairly dry, ponds are several feet low at this time.

55 now and rain.. We got pounded all nite with rain.. I aint complaining one bit as ya aint gotta shovel rain!! Temps are supposed to drop all day into the teens by pm.. Then the fun begins.. Freezing rain 1/4in and now the "Guessers" are guessing 3-6in of snow.. They keep playing snow amount bingo.. Just wish they would call my numbers so I can fill my card.. John

Freezing rain has finally change to snow, thank you Lord. It's 23 degrees and was raining up to a few minutes ago. Wrecks everywhere not a fun time to be out and about in the sunny south.

15 and still snowing here.. Looks like we got 6-8in of snow so far!!! John

Hey, Gdogg! I was thinking about you a little while ago. The TV was on and the weather folks were talking about the weather in Maine. That's quite a shock going from 50 down to below 20 in 4 hours and still dropping! I'm sure y'all are prepared for such, we'd all die if that happened in Florida.

50 down to 20 in 4 hours is really rough on plants. Happens here sometimes too - seems like at least once a year. It's in the mid-40s here today and sunny with light wind. Great day to be out working so made the best of it.

The weather guessers were wrong about the snow and ice a couple days ago - missed us completely. Now they're saying it's coming Monday night and Tuesday. We'll see.

Yesterday the folks (CalTrans) working on the mudslide area that has closed the only road between me and my office changed the due date for reopening the 101 Freeway to "indefinite". They said that they are running into so many issues that they can no longer provide a date. Good grief...

TFL, Regret learning that you have been so directly impacted by the mud slides. Hope things can get back to normal for you as quickly as possible.

At the moment my weather looks like this.

The impact on me is about as minimal as it can get - NOTHING like the people of Montecito that were in the direct path of the the mudslides. I'm very fortunate to have the ability to work from home for as long as necessary. It is a pain in the arse, but it could be much, MUCH worse.

TF ya never get fully prepared, up here just prepare for the worst like at work dress in layers cause ya can alway take layers off,at work I just hope the welders warms up the hull of the ship

Been snowing since last night.. So far I would guesstimate we got about 3in on top of the 6-8 from this past Sat.. John

What is this "snow" some of you keep talking about? Frozen water that falls from the sky?? We don't have such witchery around here. Our ice is found only in glasses with whiskey, vodka or tequila, where it belongs!

Unbelievable weather in South Mississippi

Hang in there, Larry. It looks like it's going to make it to the Panhandle sometime tomorrow morning and for a little bit after daylight. They're closing the world around here and it will reopen on Thursday. The schools are closed tomorrow and churches have cancelled Wednesday evening services, probably a good idea and on top of all this the Flu epidemic is raging. I vote for a return to Global Warming, where's Al Gore when we need him?
