Cool carving and you gave him a good beat to walk.

Coley, could you show a picture of your Pocket Carver that you use for the smaller carvings so I can see the blades?

I’m glad it made it down there David, I had a note to put in there and sealed the envelope before I put it in. That is Johnny Law 2.0 he has a black uniform and is a little shorter. If you will look close, his patch is red white and blue separated like the Texas flag and he has green loops on the shoulders of his uniform like the Decatur police. You mentioned your son would love one,so maybe you can surprise him.

I will try to post a pic of it when I get home, it is a great Eastern cutlery 62 pattern pocket carver. I have not modified the blade shape just the angle at which it is sharpened.

Made a little “shelf squatter” out of some scrap yesterday, and got it painted up last night. Old hippie dude, no patterns, just kind of came out while carving. The design of the block being cut is so it can rest on the edge of a shelf for display.

Haven't carved in quite a long time myself but this knife seemed to fit the thread when I saw it.

I have one myself, had a hard time getting it to keep an edge like I wanted on the gouges, but others I’ve talked too said theirs did pretty good. Best thing is for you to put it to work carving!!
