All About Pocket Knives

Worked all day on making a back spring for a folder and just can't get it. I used 1095 high carbon, heat treated and annealed. It broke at the back pin. Does anyone know a steel that makes a good spring with minimum heat treating to harden. Or, is there a steel that can be used without heat treating? I saw someone on the forum had purchased a bunch of springs. Does anyone know who it is, do they want to sell any? Does anyone know of a place that sells springs?
I have ordered some slip joint folder blades and will put some in my store, B&B Knives. I have two liner lock blades in the store now.
I know there are a few people that frequent knife shows that sell folder parts, if anyone knows who these people may be, I would like to contact them.

springs are not universal. generally fit certain patterns, sizes, etc. specifically what knife are you repairing?

Brent is this a knife you made or is it a replacement for a production knife?
If it is a production knife, give us a pic & a model number.
I have lots of springs, but like Johnnie said they ain't universal.

The blade is a frieder herder drop point, 3". I call it a fat blade. I had a pic in an early custom knife forum of two knives i made. those are the two blades i am using. I can't find the pics to add here, sorry. the long narrow one is 4" low profile, the other sits high and is 3". hope this helps. i appreciate you alls help.

Perhaps you do not understand, I don't make springs, that is why I buy parts.

There is a one in a million chance that a production spring I have will fit a folder you are making, any more than a started off a '53 Ford will fit a car you are making from scratch, castings & all. The starter won't fit unless you have copied perfectly the '53 Ford.
