Folder Springs

First i want to thank everyone for all the good info and help. attached are the pics of the springs, that don't spring, and the fifferent blades i am trying to make knives out of.

Instead of grinding off the notch of the bottom blade, I think I would make a lock back.
You just need a lock bar & a short piece of spring steel to make it work.
You can buy spring steel bar stock from some of the knife suppliers.
In the pic you can see two types of springs Schrade used on the LB5.
The upper type is pretty easy to make.

Brent - thanks for posting. I think that you did a good job on the "spring that won't spring", but it just looks too beefy. Can you narrow it down a bit between the pivot and the spring pin? that would probably make it work a bit better.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you create.

I was thinking the same thing. I think i have cut more on this knife than a butcher cutting up a hindquarter. I will post a pic after surgery.
