Hi Steve,

If your looking for something to get you started, Knifekits.com carries a number of modern and slipjoint style kits to get you familiar with the mechanics of it all. Jantz supply also carries a number of kits as well.

Of course, for the price of a kit you can often find a fixer-upper on ebay or the like to play around with as well.

Thanks Adam and Jeff!

I actually have a guy that is adding handles for me. I am a collector of "scout" style knives (folding knife, 4 to 5 blades with bail) and want to see if I can find a blank manufacturer.

I'll check out the sites you mentioned.
