I have a two bladed pen knife with bone handles marked Iberson Made in England and Sheffield Made with what looks like a violin on either side of the large blade. Small blade has Hand Forged and Iberson Made in England. Anyone familar with this knife? Any value? Thanks, Bob.

Hi Bob,
Sounds like a nice little penknife, value would depend to some extent on the pattern and condition, has it got sunken joints ? if so there may be a makers mark and year date stamped on the inside of one liner.
Any chance of a pic ?
Mick

Thanks Mick for the reply. Got it from and old fella possibly on station in England during WWII. Sorry but I don't have picture capability. Could find nothing on inside of liners, but area is small and my eyes old. I don't plan on selling it for sentimental reasons. I just wanted to know something about it.
Thanks again for your interest. Bob

It's worth a mention, as people outside of the UK might not know, that the Ibberson brand still exists and is owned by The Egginton Group in Sheffield. They also own the Joseph Rodgers & George Wostenholm brands. They all come out of the same factory these days.
Sorry if I'm teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs.

Im happy to see someone mention a George Wostenholm knife, maybe you all could give me a little background on one of mine?
The main blade says IXL GEORGE WOSTENHOLM, no shield blade etching or tang stamp.
Thanks, Marty

Marty,
If the blade is not stamped England, the knife was made by another manufacturer.
It appears to me to be made in Germany, as they used steel pins on nickle silver bolsters.
I would imagine your knife dates from the 1970`s or later. It is not an early example.
Still a nice knife.
