Here I go picking your brains again

I found a unusual looking gadget, which I am told is for trimming hair or beards, that has on its handle:
SENECA WR CASE & SONS CUTLERY CO
BRADFORD, PENNA
Haven't seen anything like it listed anywhere. Does anyone know of Case making things other than knives? Also, can you tell by the handle how old it is? THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Hi Deb,
We have some members here who really know their stuff, expecially when it comes to Case. Sadly I am not one of them

, but I do know that pictures really help to properly identify any cutlery item. If you could post some photos of this gadget, including closeup shots of any brand labeling, it would help greatly.

Is this the trimmers that the head looks like a set of hair clippers and you squeze the handles to make the head work? If so.....
I have owned a set of these before. I think they were made in the 1940-50's. They made 3 sizes with the largest being the El Gonquin ( I think), this is the one I had.
Please post a picture.

If I remember right, I saw a pair of them in Jim Sargents book a few years back.

Well if this is what y'all are talking about, I hate these things. My Dad cut my hair with these right up until the time I moved out of the house. They get a little dull and they PULL your hair. Hurts a bit.

My dad used those things too.
They should have been named “Hair Pullers.”
I think the same guy who invented tweezers designed them.
Joe is absolutely right! They pull hair so badly they bring tears to your eyes

and you just want to start swinging blindly!
I hated those “clippers” so much that I got a job at 12 years old and paid for my own haircuts at the barbershop after that! ....True story!
