This past year has gone by and i realized this is the first year in the past 10 i have'nt finished a knife. Between job, family and some hungry cattle, the only thing i managed was to throw this unfinished hunter/bowie...pic... in a tree for hours...anyway was organizing some things and thought i'd throw in this pic..maybe i'll finish her and make a couple more this year.

Kinda sounds like my year Craig! You have a nice start on that one; I like really the copper guard. Some nice material there to work with also!

Hang in there man, you'll find time to "back in the saddle".

Thanks Gary.... you have some fine work!
Thanks for the words of encouragement...kinda been a lean year for the hobby as inspiration and time plays a big part. Hope to turn that around this year.
Plan A for the copper hunter in the pic was for a threaded tang and copper pommel...thought I had it all dry fitted, but after it was all cinched up tight and cured ,I noticed a small gap in the spacer, handle, butt ::dang:: ....tore, ripped and ground off the butt and threw it in a box for a few monthes.
Plan B....a new threaded copper butt as not to effect the balance and was thinking of a sandblast and blued blade...hoping the blast will reveil the hard line of the selective hardened blade...think the whole knife will age graceful...we'll see.
Keep up the good work

Craig
