Here's a set I've had for a while, but just recently found. Don't you hate it when you put something away and then when you want it you can't find it.

Worth looking for IMO

nice set logman heres a 1982 set but i was not fortunate enough to get them with the plastic insert and the banner for the upper half. i dont think many of the sets had the 8 pc. i did get all the idividual boxes with paperwork and white sleeves though! hard not to get scrim fever ----------brady

Here is one that not many have ever see before.

Schrade SC500 Linelock Food Lion 1994 4" done by Frank Giorgian.

That eagle scrimmed SC500 was actually a knife done for the Tharpe Co. The pine cones are a giveaway. The pile side handle should also have a pine cone hot stamp if I remember correctly. they were/are an incentive rewards company, so it's possible that Food Lion purchased the knife for some kind of recognition program. Nice knife! I believe that one was done in 1994. There was a similar 125OT with the SC500 covers done in the mid-late 1980's.

Can anyone tell me what the 508 Scrimshaw is worth? Unused in the box. Pic isn't good at all, but is the only one i have. Thanks in advance.

Muddbone, that's a 1981 edition if those are racoons on the scrim, it's mighty hard to make it out. It's mighty hard to set a value on these types because the market fluctuates with each passing week. It really all depends on how badly a person might want that particular year or pattern. Check out Ebay and see what they've been selling for lately, or if you want to set a price, maybe start around $75 and see what happens, if it doesn't sell, drop the price a bit. I wouldn't necessarily go by the huge "Buy It Now" prices some folks have up for knives nowadays, to me that's just wishful thinking, or waiting for a sucker.

I have four Schrade scrimshaw knives.

#1. SCHRADE + USA BC (Bear Cult) it's part of the American Indian series,
made in 1985.

#2. SCHRADE + USA SC507 2 Bears made in 1985.

#3. SCHRADE + USA SC507 2 Raccoons made in 1984.

#4. SCHRADE USA SC500 2 Raccoons made in 1983.

Here's a couple Schrade Scrimshaw sets I have.

Here's the Schrade/Wostenholm set.

As most of you know Schrade scrimshaw knives are not actual scrimshawing. They are artwork that is hot stamped in the Delrin then inked to look like scrimshawing. Frank Giorgianni Sr. did more of the artwork for Schrade than by any other artist. In 2006, just a couple years after Schrade closed, I was part a group of Schrade collectors on BladeForums. We were fortunate to be able to persuade Mr. Giorgianni to hand scrim some knives for our group. He did it for the love of Schrade knives and the passion for his art. He certainly did not get rich off the small sum we paid for each knife. I think there were only about 25 of these knives made & sold, if memory serves me correctly.
Mr. Giorgianni is retired and was gracious enough to come out of retirement for a few days to make the knives for us. As I recall his son said it would probably be the last knives he scrimshawed, as his health was poor at the time.

I consider myself most fortunate to have #13 of these commemorative knives. It is hand scrimshawed and hand etched by a man who was a legend in the knife scrimshawing world. His Schrade production scrimshaw pieces are still sought after by knife collectors today.

I have included pictures of both sides of the COA he included with the knife.

Dale, Awesome story and what a great looking knife

I read in one reference book recently that these were done in Mastadon Ivory, wish I would have snapped a picture of it. Could it be possible?

For some reason I had it in mind that they were bone.
