I can't seem to find this one in the book. It has what is left of pearl handles, the long rear bolster is aluminum and is 3 in. long closed. Thank you.

Looks like a severely altered Case knife.

Yeah...don't recall seeing anything quite like that. I've even got to look up the pattern regardless of the re-worked handles.

It appears to be an early 28 pattern...I have the same knife in goldstone with a spear master. I have never seen that pattern in pearl or with a sheepfoot master blade.

Later the pattern number 28 was used on a completely different pattern - a 3-1/2" dogleg jack.

I've never seen one quite like that one, the nearest I can come to it is a very early 62028 (posted below) the 28 and 28EO was bigger and more robust.

It almost looks like part of the handle has been replaced by solder, I have seen quite a few knife handles repaired like that.

I thank you for getting back to me, a 28 pattern. It was the aluminum that caught my eye, unusual compared to the others I’ve seen since my beginning to collect a few years ago. It isn’t lead because I can’t scratch it with a fingernail, it’s aluminum. Now I wonder if mine did or didn’t have a shield. An aluminum shield Steve, aside from you can’t be all things to all people, I have to ask why couldn’t I find it in your book, that I enjoy using almost every day. Congratulations, beautifully done.

You couldn't find it because it is not a factory made handle.
