Wostenholm or I-XL cutlery sheffield england c. 1745 - present
in 1787 granted the I-XL trademark
in 1971 firm purchased by joseph rodgers & sons
in 1977 firm aquired by schrade cutlery
in 1984 purchased by company called RODGERS-WOSTENHOLM in england

I have several and in my never to be humble opinion, up until about 1971 they were exceptional knives. I don't know much about the ones after that. From about 1930 to 1971, they had a stamp "Oil the Joints" on the pile side of the tangs. Those knives were well made and had good steel.
