All About Pocket Knives

I found these knifes some time back and after a lot of searching I have not been able to come up with information of prices if anyone has eather it would be amazing. They both have the same word you can see in the picture it is russian and means pavlovo, which I have come to understand is a city in russia. That is litteraly all the information I have.

I found this on a link for Polytechnical Museum. I could not open the link, but this it what the result read:

The old village of Pavlovo on the right bank of the Oka River was justly con­sidered the center of this trade. Its craftsmen made knives, scissors, carpenter's and fitter's tools, weight levers, and other articles. But the village was most famous for its main craft—the making of padlocks

Here is a list of Knife makers in Russia. There is one in Pavlovo with a phone number & it even says they speek English. They would probably know something.

I am still intrigued by the first knife you have there. It apears to be a three blade knife with two blades on the back side from the main blade. I almost looks like an extremely conservative version of a Lady Leg knife.

And I think that Green Composite is very cool also.

Russian knives...
That's interesting. The Russians must have made knives for more than a thousand years, but I really know nada about them, and I don't remember ever handling a Russian knife of any kind...

Here are 4 examples from my collection:one of them has ivory scales and is pre-revolution(1917)although the exact date is unclear.I also cannot read Russian so I have no idea what they say.

I knew there had to be more Russian knives out there in AAPK-land!

I have a hunters shell puller knife brought back from Europe by my mother years ago. I have not been able to find out anything about it's origin until now!

The green knife posted by knife7knut has the same embossed "picture" of a "bird" in the brush on it's bolsters.

The shape of the handle is the same as well and it has shell pullers for 12 and 16 ga. shotshells (one on each side), a large main blade and a caplifter/screwdriver combo blade on one end, and a wicked looking hooked smaller balde on the other end. The handles appear to be abalone (may be synthethic, not sure). In excellent condition.

I would love to hear more about the origin of these knives.
