Knife collecting "Bible"

If I was going to purchase just one really good book of knife info and values, which one should I look for? I primarily collect folding hunters; 1 blade, 2 blade, coke bottle, clasp etc. Any maker or country. Some old, some new. I know it would take many volumes to cover near everything, but what do you reach for the most? I know the wealth of info contained in this forum is exemplary, but I sometimes like something more portable! Thanks!

I find that I use this one more and more, especially for non-CASE stuff.
The OFFICIAL PRICE GUIDE TO COLLECTOR KNIVES.

Of course, for Case knives, Steve Pfieffers (knifeaholic) is the only book you need.
I hear that GOINS might be another good one, but I haven't bought that one yet.

Rangerbluedog stole my thunder. I have over 70 knife reference books, the first one I go to on general information is the Price/Zalesky "Official Price Guide to Collector Knives".

Goins.............aka Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings is a great book for tracking down a tang stamp and finding out who made the knife and approximately when it was made. It also has interesting bits of history about a host of knife making companies. It is not, however, a good source of information if you are trying to come up with a market value for a particular knife.
Some books are better than others on this brand or that, but the truth is no one book has all the information you are likely to need as a knife collector.
