Here are two items, which my wife and I found in British Columbia.
My wife found the arrowhead on Denman Island while digging an extension onto our garden, in 1983.
The shale beads, drilled with harder stone points, were sifted from various middens along the coast, by me and friends, 1970 through 1990.
Local museum scientists tell me the arrow point is probably from the Comox band, and the beads, which are Coast Salish, were used for adornment, and also to bury with those who had passed on to another world. These particular ones were NOT dug from graves!
The point is 2 1/2" long, and the bead string is about 5 foot 8" long.
These objects keep us in touch with the rich history of this area!
