I recently bought a Case Tested XX Fish Knife, 5inch closed, Yellow composition handles, stainless.(1920-1940?) One scaler, cutting, master blade the second a hook getter plus file. My question is as follows, did this knife come with a shield on the side of the handle or did it have a hook sharpener. Area on the side it was on, shows old marks of about 1 1/4 inch long. Oval shape. I bought it this way and wish to repair it. I can't find much info. on this older one. I haven't seen any on e-bay. Is it rare? I don't see any maker numbers on it, unless they are worn off of the master blade. The knife is in good shape. Thanks for the help.

i think they had a hook sharpener instead of a shield. there could be an exception?

MWKNIFECOLL, can you post a pic? Only the 32095 had a hook sharpener, it would have a regular clip master blade and a scaler/hook remover secondary blade.

The 32093 had yellow handles (could have been made either with or without a shield they were made both ways).....liner lock main blade with fish scaler teeth on the back of the blade, secondary was a file with hook remover.

32098? was a larger yellow handle one with "SEA BEAST" imprinted on the yellow handle no shield.

I found this knife last weekend in St. Louis. I just wanted to put it up on the site but had a hard time deciding where to put it. I thought it might be OK to put it here. I am assuming that this is a 1920 to 1940's knife? I edited the pictures. I think these might be better. I am amazed at some of the pictures of knives on this web-site. My skill level is still a work in progress.

That's a nice knife - Case Tested 32048 SP 1920's to 1940's. Rare to see them in nice shape like that.

Thanks for the information on my knife! Today was our son's 19th birthday. I gave him a Case knife. It was a medium two bladed knife. I thought he might like to have one to always keep in his pocket. Today was the first time I gave him a knife. I think he really likes it. Life is Good!
