Original or Re-handled

Back in the late '80s and very early '90s, I remember thinking I wanted a Golden Spike, until I got one in my hand and discovered the handle was "genuine Staglon". What a let down. After stumbling on to some for sale on eBay, I wish I had bought one or two. Wow! Have they ever shot up in price! A collector's item now to boot. Does anyone remember what the original retail price was? Seems to me, I remember it being somewhere in the neighborhood of $30.
Keeping that in mind, I ran onto this one for sale on eBay. What do all you Schrade aficionados think. Real or Re-Handled??

Is this a '42 Ford barn find or a '43 Ford?

Jerry,
The original retail price on the 153UH in 1973 was $30.00. That woud have been 1/2 weeks wage for me at $1.60 an hour
As far as the 153UH Limited on eBay, they made Special Factory Orders in stag, so I would say its original.
A little pricey at $499.00

but original.

It was $30 in 1973 and $69.95 in 2004.
I think that knife a real Schrade factory stag.
The color of the stag is the same color as a factory stag PH2 I have.
The depth of color is a bit more intense, but it is the same shade.
It may even be one done by Herman Williams, but I wouldn't swear to that.

Likely it's a leftover from an SFO as Ozzie and Dale said, I know they definitely did one for Copenhagen. That price is ridiculous though
