I worked gun & Knife show all over the United States for many years - It just turned up at one of the shows? - the guy who walked in with it said he use to work for???? one of the knife companies back east - When this kind of stuff showed up I tried to latch on to it - i bought 200 pair of sambar stag off of one guy - 50 pair of Mother of Pearl of another guy - I'm starting to run low on gauge size pin wire in some sizes - Gauge wire was always hard to come by - I could have bought more gauge wire for Case knives but i though i had enough to last me, my contact is now dead!~ I bought 5 box's of german silver pin's from a guy who worked at the Kar-Bar plant - I store the stuff in a plastic milk box under the bench - it's open to the air so it doesn't cause any issues - tom

That sure is impressive Tom! Pretty too.
Celluloid is so pretty there is still demand even with the danger of off-gassing.
When you see that big piece you can see why people are willing to risk the off gassing.

And it's the only way to do a true restoration instead of just a repair. I Ren Waxed these really well before I pinned them on. Let's hope it helps, because with celluloid, hope is all you've got. The handles on this old Kabar weren't gassing off though. They had began to shrink and crack. The non-dectructive side of celluloid old age.

Good job Bob - It doesn't matter how many pin's you use it might give problems? then again it might not? Not all of them do - why don't all of them go gas off or shrink? I have no clue - Tom
