All About Pocket Knives

I have recently come across this knife in some old papers and keepsakes. Can someone help me figure out what year it is and the value?

This knife was made in the late '70's - early '80's and is worth $10 - $15 .

The model can effect the price.
What is the model number at the base of the large blade?
If you can't read the number, measure the length of the knife with the blade closed.

A small 108OT will usually sell for $10-$15 (the 108OT is 2-3/4" closed).
A 34OT (3-5/16") is closer to $15-$20 and a larger 8OT (4") can bring $20-$25, some times a bit more if it is in excellent condition.

It is a 108OT - if you enlarge the pic you can make it out . Also , on the scale that the knife is on it appears to be 2-3/4" long .

Thanks! DO ya'll know if this knife was produced in 1955? I have a letter stating that there was a gift of a knife from President Eisenhower to my grandfather. This is the only 'special' knife we have in the family - so I am assuming that this is the one.

According to the tang stamp this knife could not have been made before 1978 . Also , most likely , if Pres. Eisenhower gave your grandfather a knife it would probably be a Case brand similar to this , only older .

Schrade did not introduce the 108OT until 1963. They continued to make it until 2004 when they closed.

Bob, your eyes or your computer monitor is better than mine to read that tang stamp!
