Had some fun with my new press
5160 leaf spring core
chevy timing chain and gears
old mesquite beam from a re-model I did on a house built in 1929
result? a large ugly heavy sharp object..
I really wanted to keep this one, but it sold the next day, before I could make a sheath.

I think it's a shame you sold it.
How many knives have you made?
It just seemed so personal..............It was nice.

I've been making knives for about ten years, sometimes I just hate to see one go, This was fun as I wanted to make it crude and rude...

Come to Madison, Wisconsin. My buddies have entire garages full of this stuff! You will never run out of blade stock, just taking finished projects to Sturgis will make you a wealthy man, and if you like beer and pretty girls, well then, you'll drink a lot for free and actually have groupies.

Ahh wish I could go to Sturgis, a little to old an decrepit to travel well.. But I do plan on making a few more of this style if I can find the chains. Want to sell a couple next time you go to Sturgis?

LOL. Been there twice. Being an older biker--but also a married man--creates certain "logistical problems" due to the nature of that overall entertainment, if you catch my drift. My wife is suburban girl and 'tolerates' motorcycles.

Due to years in this sport and many internet biker contacts, a ride in any part of the USA would be a snap. ("Bye-bye, honey, I'm off for two weeks to travel the country and wind up in Sturgis with a biker called Bad Influence. Don't wait up...")

You can go to Sturgis and get a limited vendor's license, yourself. Obviously you'll need a truck, anyway. I'd recommend that you go yourself, enjoy "the sights" re-connect with us derelicts and post your knife sales and adventures back here after you get bailed out of jail.
