I seem to be making up time hunting for knives. I was confined to home having had total knee replacement, but since the doctor cleared me to drive, the hunt for knives is on. Went to an estate sale this morning and found this Schrade+ LB3. It needed cleaned up a bit but is in otherwise great shape

Those are two fine looking Schrade lockbacks Ken. I have an LB5, Copenhagen model to add to my collection also. I do have an LB7, but I loaned it to my son last deer season, so not expecting to see that one come home any to soon. I also picked up a 34 OT the day after I bought that LB3. It had been stored in a drawer in a manscave. It had light rust on the blades. Cleaned up nice . Brand new, papers, only 1/2 of the original box though. Just been a lot of knives flowing in my direction.

Hi Dale, I have some LB1,LB5, LB6 and LB7 Old timers. I also have some UH-LB1 knives, however I will keep looking for an LB3 for my collection.
Over the years I have collected quite a number of 34OT, I have six 2003 knives in un-opend boxes - eight 100th Anniversary in tins - five NY USA in brown boxes - two SS34OT in the wooden box + one, SS34OT that is only half finished. I also have some knives I call give-a-ways, Schrade gave them to some of their byers - they have taken many years to find about ten of them. Ken

Well Ken, I would say that you have quite a collection of Schrades going there! Very impressive. If I should ever give it a thought as to letting go of that LB3, I will most assuredly get in touch.

Hi old mate Ken, How is things over your part of the world ?
At last I found a nice stag handled Schrade D'holder # 320.
Just before Christmas I found an-other D'holder with the Green handle #133.
Since we last talked about D'holders, I have seen 10 or 15 for sale - all come with a Big Story, no numbering or etching.
Some have the wrong sheath, and all had no paperwork.
I once asked if any of them where made in China, I think there must have been a lot of unfinished knives around when Schrade closed down.
One knife had two rivets deep in the handle, could have been a re-ject.
Thank You for the reply.. Ken down here in the sun

Schrade Walden 822 propwood, 1953 to 1956. Four inches. This one is dirty, stains and patina, but has never been sharpened and smooth as glass. Looks like it has been carried a little, with the wood a little dull on the high places. Pretty rare I think, and I like it quite a bit.

Probably the one 54Rodgers pulled because he felt like the bids weren't high enough.

I knew of a couple other bidders on that one.

That's the one, Hawk. I threw a $200 bid on it and was ready to go higher. He pulled it too soon.

He said he pulled it at $255.00, but the high bid showed $434.00 when he cancelled the auction. He should have done a BUY IT NOW with a Make Offer option, or put a reserve on it.

That thing is ugly as all get out Keith...you need to remove it from the rest of your knives before it spoils the whole lot! LOLOLO
I'll secure it for you, wouldn't want anything to happen to the rest of your great knives...send me a bill for the shipping and we'll get you taken care of....hahaha
Seriously---That is a thing of beauty! Congrats and glad to hear from you.
Tom

I'll wager it did not stay on that table very long. Seeing that knife and box would have got my blood pressure up real fast.
