Well we had our annual show this past weekend. It seemed a little smaller and slower than the last couple...but, maybe it was just me.

I only bought one knife...OK, I bought a nice letter opener for my wife as well. ::huff::

From one of my favorite slipjoint makers...

Ty Montell, Silver City, New Mexico...a 3 7/8" single bladed Saddlehorn Trapper...in blue Mastodon Ivory...blue titanium liners...with a small amount of nicely executed filework.

I liked it a bunch... hope you enjoy seeing it...::nod:: ::nod::

Thanks Randy. ::nod::

Ty doesn't have a website, which is probably one reason he isn't so well known. But he is a gracious guy, and does excellent work, up to par with most any maker, IMO.

Here is his contact information if you'd like to speak with him by email or telephone:

Sure thing.

I've shown this one before, but here is another piece by Ty in Elephant Ivory...with a great pocket sheath by our own "sheathmaker" (Paul Long) from Kerrville.

Wow Bill very nice... :)

They are both impressive and that sheath is out of this world...I am smitten by filework and yours is eye catching...

Matter of fact just go ahead and send those on over to me for more serious study. ..I am envious of your local knife shows, I wish we had some of those here in Florida. The closest thing we have to a knife show would be the odd gun show at the major city's where they have a small supply of knives for sale.

Thanks,

Sunburst

sunburst ; ("I am envious of your local knife shows")

That sounds like an oppertuneity to me .
With what you have, rent a booth and sell yours. I can add some of mine too.
With that we can make your local knife show a hit.

Or I would get to see you and your knives in my hands. ??????

Nope that would NOT work cuz I would just buy all that you bring.

Looks like I just placed my size 13 foot in my mouth. ::dang:: ::dang::
