Hi all, I have run out of ideas how to buy n/s pin material in Aust. The best I could find is 3mm.
The question is I'll have to get it from USA, seeing as I only buy brass in 1/16, 3/32, 1/8,
am I better to just order those sizes in n/s. instead of exact sizes I can sand to the size I want.
The shipping is the main prohibitive factor so I only want to order small lots.
Any advice helpful, what sizes do yous stockor do you sand down to size also.

cheers Gary.

Gary,
If your restoring a knife and using most of the old parts "liners, scales, blades" you should know by now that the pin holes are most likely going to be slightly larger do to corrosion, ware, and just the act of disassembling the knife.
If you want an exact fit I'd go with slightly larger pin stock than you need and work them down to a custom fit.

When working with old materials , there will always be adjustments.

JW,
Thanks, just wanted clarification if that was the best way to do it.
I've seen all the sizes listed here in a previous thread and didn't want to buy
that many sizes.

cheers Gary. ::dang::
