All About Pocket Knives

I didn't want to hi-jack Willie's ball cap thread so thought it appropriate to start a fresh thread for this post.

While I wore a suit and tie for more than half my working life, I'm a t-shirt and jeans kinda guy. When given a choice, I'll be in one of my more than 75 t-shirts and a pair of bluejeans or if it's summer time, shorts. The shirts are in various states of wear and disrepair, some are twenty years old and frazzled around the edges but quite honestly I don't give a fig. In fact, I've made it quite clear to my children, I want to be buried in a t-shirt and jeans. I have the shirt set aside and they may have to split it up the back to get it to fit but who cares, no one will be able to see my back unless they bury me upside down and then the world can kiss my a__.

This is my favorite. It's the second generation. I out grew the first one.

im a T,shirt and jeans guy, ive a lot of T,shirts, ive got some going back about 10 years or more including l a few old Vans T,s like hoodies as well and have my first hoodie i ever got and it was from my mum on my 18th birthday (1988) its a burgundy reebok hoodie, since losing 3stone due to illness it now fits my wife still picks me up the odd T now and then, she has good tasye in T's and nows what i like

I'm a blue jeans guy myself, usually Lees, but not tee shirts. No pocket for cigarettes

Bought this at the company store at a logging camp on Long Island, Alaska.
Its S.W. of Ketchikan about an hour or so by float plane. My Father and I
were double-jacking some old growth spruce (some 10ft on the stump) for
Glen Snow (NW Logging) at the time. The camp at long Island in 1990 was
one of the largest left in S.E. Alaska. Some of the best times I ever had
no doubt about it.

EDITED - added pic of Dad - Short day before 4th of July shutdown so I took
the camera that day. He is standing on the but log!! This tree was about 9ft
on the stump. I still have the 084AV on the log behind him.

Not wit pitures on em. When I was buying my Zippos, I cross collected some few #23 Jimmy Spencer NASCAR stuff (Zippo sponsored along with Camel and Winston) and two of the items are really bright and colorful JS tees. As you know, cigarette advertising was banned from NASCAR. Now the sponsors are feminine hygene products. Never wore the tee shirts.

I don't follow NASCAR (going in circles gets me dizzy ) so I didn't know cigarette advertising has been banned. What about Winston Cup? Did they deep six that too?

Great pic!! Ol Dad looks tougher than wet leather.

I wear jeans pretty much EVERYWHERE. I wear "T's" when it cools down a bit. When it's over 110° in the shade and the sun's beating down like a hammer, I prefer long sleeved shirts. Most of my T's have scooter oriented crap on them. Bought very few, just seemed to acquire the damn things around Xmas and B'day.


That one drove the yupster HD owners crazy. Most of 'em had NO idea what a knuckle head HD was to start with and if they did, they thought it sacrilegious to NOT wear a damned HD shirt and all the rest of the overpriced HD crap to go with it.....

Got several from old crane companies I worked for over the years and YES i like pocket T's too.

I never met a Norton rider who wasn't a mechanic.
I used to ride with another Marine who had a 750 Commando.
We would stop somewhere & have a smoke and a beer while he tightened up his Norton!


This is a shirt Al Mar designed. He was his own model for the Mongol Warrior on the horse. Al told me his last name, Mar, means horse in Chinese.
Wholesale on the shirt was $25 in the 1980s. There are 7 or 8 colors silk-screened on there; hence the expense.


A few of my veteran shirts -

I spent too many years wearing a shirt & tie when I was working. Now that I am retired in the winter I hear logger jeans with the button on suspenders and pocket T-shirts like Carhartt. In the summer I wear sleeveless T-shirts and carpenter shorts. Carhartt stopped making their sleeveless Ts a year or 2 ago. Good thing I have 15-18 of them!

The T-shirts with graphics are for going to the VA, church, (we have 5 or 6 Marines in our small congregation), veterans functions or other semi dress up occasions.

I got a laugh out of that! I have to go to court tomorrow, so I figured I better dress up. My current version of semi-formal attire is a plain black T-shirt, Levis, and Nikes with socks. The rest of the time I'm rather casual . . .

Dale - That's a classic. I had the exact same shirt and wore it often until I went from a Large to an XX-Large in about six months. (I quit smoking for the second time and for good.) It was my favorite shirt back then.

i sold my norton, 750 atlas, when i moved a few years ago...damn, could that thing eat up the twisties...
and good thing i was a mechanic and had a set of whitworth spanners...

please let me get to the next shady spot was my mantra...

And that''s just one reason I never wear clothing with anything printed on it. Some of those T's were cool, though.
