made lunch money

i did good today...went to an estate sale...nice one...couldn't afford to look type of sale, where everything has a price tag..
....so here in a cardboard box...ignored...are two braided hair pocket watch chains...with charms...the one is a locket with the husband's photo on one half..the ladies on the other...how cool is that...
so these chains are marked at 10 bucks each... ::drool:: i run to the bank and grab a twenty...get the chains...stop off at a watchmaker friend to show off my new finds....

and walk out with 50 bucks...so for a two minute drive i made 30 bucks...
he will take them to the upcoming watch show...and double his money...

in my world..it doesn't get better than that...

thanks guys...

unfortunately, all i am good for is finding treasure...others walk right over the goodies in their rush to grab the good looking stuff...an miss the real antiques...


well...off to get my head straight for my VA appt. this afternoon...

You'd do well around here gringo. Lots of flea markets, antique shops and auctions. There's a town called Adamstown in the southern part of the state that's almost entirely antique shops and huge flea markets.

wow...i have never been to penn....
and my mothers side of the family moved from the flatbush when they began calling it new york instead of new amsterdam...

looks like i'd be in heaven at those swaps..
