The 1995 catalog suggests that the 6-OT was offered in carbon steel during that year.

In all subsequent years after that, the 6-OT is listed as being made with Schrade+ stainless (the 5-OT and others appear to switch over in 96 too).

I've seen a bunch of 6-OTs on the auction sites but have never seen a carbon steel one.

Has anybody ever seen one? Can you confirm that the 1995s were in fact made in carbon steel?

To answer the obvious follow up, yes, I would be interested in acquiring one (or a carbon 123-OT) so if you have one, feel free to PM me.

It is not that easy to determine whether a Schrade in the 1990s had 1095 steel. They made running changes, and some stainless blades did not have the tell-tale "plus" sign on the tang during this time period. You must test the steel by analytical methods to see if it "stains." I have an 858 OT and some #5 patterns without a plus sign and I am not sure what the steel is because I have not run any tests on them. If the plus sign is there it is proof positive of stainless steel.
