All About Pocket Knives

I have a late model stainless Ulster scout knife. The spring for the main blade and punch blade is broken. I am thinking of using a non stainless spring from a Ulster parts knife. I believe the only difference is stainless vs nonstainless. Can I replace this spring by just compressing (homemade spring vice) the knife and taking out the rocker pin, replace spring and pin? Or would I need to take all 3 pins and replace spring and reassemble?

Supporting 2 blades, tension and the rocker pin are sll that holds it in. I use a thin piece of semi-hard rubber between the knife frame and the vise jaw away from the backsprings to avoid damage and help eliminate movement. Good luck!

I used leather instead of rubber. It all went perfectly. Another scout for the collection!
